CURES Beauté was created by sisters Ami and Monika and is based on the importance of self-care and custom beauty solutions to suit individual needs. 

Growing up and working in their mother Nina’s salon after school, both Ami and Monika learned how to do nails. Nina had previously been a hairstylist during the 80s and early 90s until she went on to owning her own salon for 10 years in the Queen Street West area. She has since retired to dedicate her time to volunteer work. 

Monika went on to business school as well as learning nails in California so that she could further help Nina’s business. Monika continued her education by studying medical esthetics, which led her to executive roles for Skin Vitality and JaniKing. Upon opening CURES with Ami in 2018, Monika took on her current role as the Director of Skincare and brought medical-grade skin treatments to the team’s arsenal of luxury services. 

After learning nails through working for Nina’s salon, Ami went on to pursue fashion in school and eventually switched to public relations. After attending school in California, she went on to work at Fiorio while interning at Fashion Week until taking a position at the Shangri-La Hotel where she gained hands-on experience with luxury customer service. Upon leaving her position in 2018, she went on to start CURES with her sister based on the vision of creating an elevated experience from the common nail salon.
